DESCRIPTION:HBAI Lobby Day Postponed \nBill Ward\, \nExecutive V.P.\, HBAI \nThe HBAI Lobby Day\, scheduled for Tuesday\, April 28\, 2020 has been postponed due to the Stay at Home Order issued to protect us COVID-19. The Illinois General Assembly has not met in Springfield in a month and it is likely that they won’t come back until June. \nHouse & Senate leadership have indicated that when they do come back it may be for budgetary and emergency purposes only. There is some speculation that may elect to pass a six-month\, temporary budget to keep the state government running from the beginning of the FY2021 budget year\, July 1st\, to the end of the calendar year. \nThere is also speculation that the Fall Veto Session\, scheduled for two weeks following the November General Election\, might run from November through December. Should this be the case\, the HBAI Board of Directors will consider scheduling an alternative date for Lobby Day on Tuesday\, November 17\, 2020. We will keep you updated as information becomes available.

DESCRIPTION:This is the most important event in the HBAI advocacy program.  All Members are encouraged to attend whether it is your first time or 30th. \nAt this meeting after morning issues briefing and lunch\, groups will go to the Illinois Capital to talk with Legislators.  No matter if your one of the spoke persons of the group or just want to be there in the moment\, your attendance it most valuable. \nFor those wanting overnight accommodations there are rooms being held at the State House Inn  – 101 East Adams\, Springfield.  Call 217-528-5100 to make your reservation as the rooms will only be held until March 14th.  Ask for Home Builders Association of Illinois rate.
